Turkey’s HRC exports slump in May

According to data released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), Turkey’s exports of hot rolled coils (HRC) totaled 92,521 tons in May, dropping by 12.2% year on year and slumping by 50.8% from a month ago.
Meanwhile, the country’s HRC export values totaled US$41.4 million, falling by 33% year on year and decreasing by 50% from a month ago.
In the first five months of this year, Turkey’s HRC exports amounted to 536,935 tons, down by 2% year on year.
In the give period of time, the US was the largest importer of the Turkish HRC with 169,898 tons; Italy was the second largest one with 80,579 tons.
