Southern Europe HRC Steel prices decline by €2 per ton

Southern Europe hot rolled cold (HRC) steel prices declined by €2 per ton week-on-week to €413 per ton in the week ended July 11th this year, as per the latest figures released by the The Steel Index.

The European steel market was relatively quiet last week, as prices found firmer ground at their current levels.

In Northern Europe, HR coil traded between €410-420 a ton, whilst trades in the South were concluded between €405 – €415 a ton, ex-works.

Despite price stability, sentiment is prevailingly bearish, as market participants expect slowing demand to depress prices in the coming weeks.
