Sea freight index at Baltic advances further to 942 points

The main sea freight index at Baltic Exchange for bigger vessels advanced further on Thursday helped by higher rates for capesize vessels.

The overall index, which factors in average daily earnings of capesize, panamax, supramax and handysize dry bulk transport vessels, rose by 71 points or 8.15 percent to 942 points.

The main sea freight index at Baltic Exchange is the rate which tracks for ships carrying dry bulk commodities.
