Japan’s scrap export prices to South Korea rise

It’s reported that South Korean mills bid Japanese H2 scraps for JPY 33,000 per tonne FOB.

The prices are JPY 200 per tonne to JPY 500 per tonne higher on the prior comparable period.

South Korean buyers have been quite cautious in purchasing because they could not see significant improvement in scrap.

Besides, steel mills including Hyundai Steel and Dongkuk Steel are planning to cut their scrap purchasing prices by KRW 5,000 per tonne.
