The World Steel Association said that Iran produced 13.51 million tonnes of crude steel in the first ten months of 2014, a 6.5% rise compared to the same period in 2013.
As per report, the country’s crude steel output stood at 1.444 million tonnes in October 2014.
World crude steel production for the 65 countries reporting to the WSA was 137 million tonnes in October 2014, the same compared to October 2013.
Iran’s crude steel output hit 15.64 million tonnes in Iranian calendar year 1392 (March 2013-March 2014), a 9% rise compared to the year before.
According to officials, the output is projected to increase to 55 million tonnes by the end of the Fifth Five-Year Development Plan (2015).
