Two people were airlifted to a San Antonio hospital after suffering serious burns in an industrial accident in Seguin.
The two men were working in a melting room at CMC Steel Texas around 5:30 PM Sunday when the accident happened.
One man suffered severe burns to more than half of his body. The other has severe burns on his hands, but the extent of his injuries is unknown. Both men were taken to San Antonio Military Medical Center for treatment.
The McQueeny Volunteer Fire Department and Seguin Fire Department were called to the scene.
Firefighters shut off the main gas line as a precaution, but were forced to back off after a gas release valve activated.
The gas company was then called out to fix the issue. Employees were evacuated and the small fire was quickly put out. The fire is the second at the mill in less than a month.
